INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE
A central objective of precept.concept.percept is to create meaningful exchange among artists working across different cultural, educational, institutional, and professional contexts.
The international structure of the residency enables participants to encounter distinct compositional and interpretative perspectives, compare methodologies, and examine how artistic practices are conditioned by particular histories, traditions, resources, and working environments.
International exchange is understood here not as the passive representation of difference, but as a process of attentive listening, negotiation, translation, and shared inquiry. Participants are encouraged to articulate their positions with precision while remaining open to the possibility that sustained engagement with others may transform their methods and assumptions.
Because the program extends across several months, relationships can develop through repeated artistic contact rather than brief professional encounter. The residency aims to support connections that remain meaningful beyond the immediate preparation of the festival performances and that may generate future works, collaborations, ensembles, research, or forms of artistic dialogue.
