For composers, the residency is designed to support:
– The creation of new works or substantial development of existing compositions
– Direct and sustained engagement with performers and ensembles
– Examination of how notation and compositional structures function in practice
– Detailed interpretative, technical, and practical feedback
– Refinement of formal, sonic, conceptual, and performative dimensions
– Development of more precise methods of artistic communication
– Greater understanding of rehearsal as part of the compositional process
– Preparation of works for public performance
For performers and ensembles, the residency is designed to support:
– Direct engagement with composers and works in development
– Active participation in collaborative creation
– Expansion of contemporary interpretative practices
– Development of methods for reading, rehearsing, and performing new music
– Articulation of embodied, technical, and tacit forms of knowledge
– Critical examination of interpretative agency and responsibility
– Contribution to the formation and realization of new repertoire
– Participation in public performances at an international festival
For all participants, the residency provides a structured context in which artistic development takes place through sustained activity, dialogue, experimentation, reflection, and engagement with the practices of others.
