ANTICIPATED OUTCOMES

The residency is designed to support the development of:

  • New or substantially developed musical works
  • Performances and, where applicable, premieres or first public realizations
  • Expanded compositional and interpretative methodologies
  • Collaborative relationships among composers, performers, and ensembles
  • New repertoire for participating performers and ensembles
  • More precise approaches to notation, rehearsal, interpretation, and performance
  • Critical reflection on individual and collective artistic practices
  • Public presentations at the seventh Bled Contemporary Music Week
  • International artistic relationships and future collaborative possibilities
  • New forms of dialogue among composition, interpretation, performance, and critical inquiry

The precise outcome of each project will depend on its artistic premises, stage of development, and collaborative trajectory. The residency therefore recognizes artistic development not only in the form of completed works, but also in the clarification of methods, revision of assumptions, acquisition of practical knowledge, and formation of sustained professional relationships.
